George Paul Truby

George Paul Truby is a uniquely qualified wine professional. He is a Diplomate of the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, London (1979); and Laureate of the Comite' Interprofessionel du Vin de Champagne Award, France. He has performed judging duties for Union Internationale des Oenologues, Italy and is the recipient of the

Decanter/Lanson Award for writing excellence.
These laurels are complemented with winemaking experiences in Champagne, Cotes du Rhone, Napa, Australia, Uruguay and New Zealand. He worked three vintages (1978-80) at Champagne Deutz, Ay, Champagne; studying vineyard and winemaking practices, blending technique and Champagne cuisine.
In 1983, following two years as Wine Advisor to Pan Am First Class wine service, he established The Wine Workshop in New York City, presenting wine education workshops to trade personnel and consumers alike. In the ensuing 15 years he established further facilities in Scottsdale, Az and Las Vegas, NV.
8,803 participants graduated with the TWW diploma, including three who became Master Sommeliers.
Today, George resides in New Zealand.
