Hola Espana

Hello Spain, indeed. With champions at Wimbledon and of the World Cup football this year, it seemed appropriate to touch on a couple of Spanish wine gems. Those of you going to Americas Cup will have a host of wine options at restaurants throughout the beautiful, engaging city of Gaudi's Barcelona.

Imbibing should always commence with bubbles. In Barcelona, you are spoiled with choice; wonderful Cavas from Sant Sadurni d'Anoia. None are better than the range from the prestigious Cava producer, Juve Y Camps. These are Cava of elegance and great depth of flavour.

The other gem is the great red wine from Torres, a unique, yes unique because varietal Cabernet Sauvignon is rare in Spain, Mas La Plana. It has a texture not usually associated with the variety. Torres has tempered the harsh Cabernet Sauvignon tannins and produced a wine of great length, and depth of flavour.

Enjoy the yachting readers. Enjoy these wine gems. Both experiences will be Favoloso !

Salud !
